Remembering Alec
After a successful heart surgery at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor on June 20, Alec Anson didn't wake up. For unknown reasons his brain began swelling uncontrollably, causing severe damage. Alec died at 2:59 PM on June 23, 2006, at the age of 16. His life touched many. Alec was an organ donor. Even in his death he was able to bring hope and life to others. This blog was designed to bring healing and comfort to those closest to Alec. Please post your comments accordingly!

As an organ donor he and his family were courageous and charitable. There is no greater memory that a loved one can leave his family than that his donation saved the lives of others.
I know I am a heart transplant recipient who was near death when I received my heart from a 26 year old anonymous donor.
